Chris Chittell

Christopher John Chittell (born May 19, 1948 in Aldershot ) is a British actor .

Chittell grew up as the son of an army man stationed in India and became a model after graduating from school. In 1964 he was seen on a stage for the first time and from 1967 also played in films, including Tony Richardson's The Attack of the Light Brigade , and repeatedly in television series. In The Freewheelers , he played the role of Nick Carter in 26 episodes in 1969. After he was seen in films produced on the mainland in the early 1970s, he starred in the 1974/75 television series The Tomorrow People and (as Charles Canyon ) in a few Swedish soft erotic strips. In 1986 he got the role of Eric Pollard in the daily soap Emmerdale , which he still plays almost thirty years later.

Chittell is married to his Emmerdale colleague Lesley Dunlop .
