Christian Andree (fencer)

Christian Andree (born February 22, 1990 in Hausen near Würzburg , Lower Franconia ) is a German wheelchair fencer . His trainer is Helga Winckelmann and his club is the Tauberbischofsheim fencing club . Due to his handicap due to leg spasticity , he fights in the starting class A.

Sporting successes

As early as 2005, Christian Andree was the 15-year-old German champion in men's florets among the active players. In 2006 he was able to defend this title at the German Championships of Wheelchair Fencing in Böblingen. This year he also took 20th place in foil and 22nd place in epee at the 2006 World Cup in Turin . At the 2007 European Championships in Warsaw , he came in twelfth place in foil and 22nd place in epee. At the beginning of May 2008, Christian Andree reached 2nd place in foil in a World Cup competition in Montreal , Canada.

Christian Andree was the only German fencer to take part in the 2008 Summer Paralympics in Beijing in a sword and foil , but did not make it to the finals.
