Christian Boehringer

Christian Boehringer (* 1965 in Wiesbaden ) is chairman of the shareholders' committee at Boehringer Ingelheim and belongs to its fourth generation of owners.

Life

Christian Boehringer is a great-grandson of Albert Boehringer , the founder of the pharmaceutical company Boehringer Ingelheim. His grandmother is Ruth Dyckerhoff from the owner family of the cement manufacturer of the same name, who married the son of the company founder in 1929.

He is married and has a son.

Professional background

After completing his military service, completing a commercial apprenticeship with the Freudenberg Group and studying business administration at the University of Saarbrücken, Boehringer worked as a pharmaceutical product manager at Boehringer Ingelheim in Great Britain before joining a European pharmaceutical consultancy. He headed this company for three years.

In 2000 he moved to the international management team of Henkel KGaA in Düsseldorf for three years . He then went back to Boehringer Ingelheim GmbH, where he took on responsibility for global CRM project management, followed by a position as area manager responsible for the USA, Canada and Mexico.

Christian Boehringer has been chairman of the shareholders' committee since 2007, which represents the interests of the owner families, one of the richest families in Germany. The shareholders' committee sees itself as a steering committee for the company management (comparable to a supervisory board).

Act

Boehringer is involved in various initiatives for more equal opportunities in education and for the preservation of handwriting .
