Christian Guth

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Christian "Elvis" Guth (born June 5, 1985 in Bayreuth ) is a German extreme athlete , water diver and multiple world champion in splash diving .

Guth jumped from the 10-meter tower for the first time at the age of six. With the hardest jump ever shown at a Splashdiving World Championship: a screw forward with five and a half rotations and finished with a technically perfect ass bomb, Guth - who most people call "Elvis" because of his hip swing - won the second of eight world championship titles in 2006 . Guth was able to defend this title in Nuremberg for the third time in a row in 2008. In addition, he won the synchronized jumping title with Felix Hirt, the reigning splash diving world champion (2010).

Guth's body control allows him to jump safely into the water from a height of up to 40 meters. He proved this in 2010 with an ass-bomb world record from a crane from a height of 40 meters. In addition to his athletic activities, he was also the national coach of the German splash diving team.

When attempting to break his own world record in 2013 by jumping from a helicopter from a height of 43 meters, he landed incorrectly and suffered serious injuries as a result. As a result of the fall on his tailbone, he suffered a severe herniated disc and a torn spine.
