Christian Hacker (Entrepreneur)
Christian Hacker (* 1802 in Vestenberg ; † 1882) was the founder of the toy factory of the same name in Nuremberg .
Life
Hacker grew up in Nuremberg and in 1835, after completing his apprenticeship, opened a toy factory in Nuremberg's Brunnengässchen. Dollhouses, doll kitchens, dollhouses, guards, castles, shops (pharmacies, general stores, cleaning shops, bakeries, toy shops, basket shops, etc.), wash houses, horse stables, warehouses, garages, cars, trains, summer toys and other toy items were manufactured. In terms of quality and price, the products stood out from the wooden toys from the Ore Mountains .
Christian Hacker died in 1882, but the workshops for fine Nuremberg wooden toys Christian Hacker , whose trademarks were a C and H under a crown, continued under this name until 1928.
In 1867 and 1900, the company's products received gold medals at the world exhibitions in Paris. On August 2, 1928, Frieda Höfler, the daughter of the last owner, announced the company. Production stopped on October 1, 1927.
A shop owned by Christian Hacker, around 100 years old at the time, was featured on the 2005 annual poster for the Nuremberg Toy Museum; it belongs to the inventory of the museum.
