Christian Nienhaus (media manager)

Christian Nienhaus (born February 5, 1960 in Hamm ) is a German media manager .

Life

Nienhaus studied economics at the Ruhr University in Bochum . After completing his studies, he worked for the German publisher Gruner + Jahr from 1984 to 1995 , where he was initially managing director of Hamburger Morgenpost and then managing director of Berliner Zeitung Verlag . From 1995 to 2000 he was managing director of Badischer Verlag in Freiburg and from 2000 to 2001 managing director of Süddeutsche Zeitung GmbH . He then moved to Axel Springer AG , where he took over the publishing management of the BILD newspaper group from 2001 to 2008 . From 2008 to 2014 he was managing director of the WAZ media group in Essen and played a key role in its restructuring into the Funke media group and the acquisition of numerous media from Axel Springer. He returned to Axel Springer at the beginning of 2015 and has been Chairman of the Management Board of Sales Impact, the sales organization of Axel Springer, and of Media Impact, the marketing joint venture between Axel Springer and the Funke media group, since August 2015. Nienhaus has been married since 1986 and has one son.
