Christian Pierdzioch

Christian Pierdzioch is a German economist.

Life

After completing his doctorate in Kiel in 2001 with the thesis Noise trading, central bank interventions, and the informational content of foreign currency options , he taught as a professor at the Saarland University and since 2011 at the professorship for general economics at the Helmut Schmidt University . His research focuses on monetary , international and political economics as well as sports economics . He has been counted several times among the most research-oriented economists in Germany, so the Handelsblatt listed him in 2015 at 34th place out of around 3,600 German-speaking economists whose publications were evaluated.
