description

The rectangular building is located on the cul-de-sac Church Hill in the city center, not far from Paisley High Church. It was built between 1779 and 1781 according to a design by the architect Samuel Henning. In 1884 the interior was redesigned and finally subdivided in 1981. The masonry is made of cut quarry stone and is decorated with offset corner stones. The entrance is on a protruding part of the building on the west-facing front. A triangular gable with ox-eye protrudes slightly above the arched portal with a detached keystone . Two arched windows are arranged on both sides of this part of the building. The windows along the back of the building are arranged on five vertical axes. On the south side, two arched windows flank a central door. Four more windows are symmetrically distributed on the upper floor. On the north side there is a two-story wing, which in turn ends with one-story wings. A slate-covered platform roof sits on top of the building .
