Christina Birkenhake (* 1961 ) is a German mathematician who deals with algebraic geometry and complex analysis.

Christina Birkenhake studied mathematics in Münster and Erlangen from 1982 and received her doctorate in 1989 at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg under Herbert Lange (Heisenberg groups ampler straight line bundles on Abelian varieties). From 1988 to 2001 she was a research assistant at the Mathematical Institute. She completed her habilitation in Erlangen in 1994, was a private lecturer there, and was a professor at the University of Mainz from 2001/02 to 2002/03 . Since 2003 she has been working as a teacher at various Nuremberg grammar schools and vocational schools and as a lecturer at the university and various technical colleges in the greater Erlangen area. She also gives public lectures on mathematical and astronomical topics such as symmetries in the Alhambra.

With Lange she wrote two monographs on complex Abelian varieties and on complex tori.

In 1994 she received the Emmy Noether Prize from the Faculty of Natural Sciences at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg.
