Herbert Lange (mathematician)

Herbert Lange (born March 29, 1943 ) is a German mathematician who deals with algebraic geometry . He is a professor at the University of Erlangen .

Lange received his doctorate from Max Deuring at the University of Göttingen in 1970 (The manifolds of the body of sex 2 with an elliptical partial body).

Among other things, he deals with Abelian varieties and their modular spaces.

Christina Birkenhake is one of his PhD students .
