Christoph Braunschweig

Christoph Braunschweig is an economist , professor at the University of Economics in Yekaterinburg , author of numerous specialist books and a publicist. The focus of his professorship is on the areas of political economy . Braunschweig is one of the representatives of the classically liberal “Hayek School”.

Career

As a student he heard from Friedrich August von Hayek and already joined the Austrian School of Economics while studying at the University of Freiburg .

The work The Democratic Disease from 2012 addresses the causes of over-indebtedness, which Braunschweig attributes to the irrationality of political promises and false claims of the electorate. Ultimately, the over-indebted welfare state will fail just like socialism. In his book Welfare State - Farewell! von 2013, Braunschweig argues that only a market economy and ordo-liberalism can guarantee prosperity and personal freedom.
