Christoph Campestrini (born 1968 in Linz ) is an Austrian conductor .

Christoph Campestrini led an international concert and opera career with a wide-ranging repertoire to orchestras such as the London Symphony Orchestra, Tschaikovsky RSO Moscow, German Symphony Orchestra Berlin, RSO Frankfurt, Mozarteumorchester Salzburg, RSO Vienna, Orchester National du Capitole de Toulouse, Real Orquesta Sinfonica de Seville, RSO Prague, RSO Budapest, National Symphony Orchestra of Mexico, Cairo Symphony, Seoul Philharmonic, National Symphony Orchestra of Taiwan and many others.

He has been working regularly for several years in the USA and Canada, where he a. conducted the Philadelphia Orchestra, Houston Symphony, Detroit Symphony, Indianapolis Symphony, Florida Orchestra, Vancouver Symphony, National Arts Center Orchestra Ottawa and the Orchester Symphonique de Quebec.

In 2016, Christoph Campestrini was appointed Kapellmeister of the Vienna Hofmusikkapelle to perform sacred music with the Vienna Philharmonic, the Vienna Boys' Choir and the Vienna State Opera men's choir. He is musical director of the Klosterneuburg Opera House just outside Vienna and principal guest conductor of the International Late Summer Music Festival Dubrovnik

As an opera conductor, Christoph Campestrini was the first Kapellmeister at the renowned Aalto Musiktheater Essen in over 100 performances. Furthermore he conducted u. a. at the Teatro Regio Turin, Teatro Lirico Cagliari, Deutsche Oper am Rhein, Minnesota Opera, Opera de Montreal, Edmonton Opera and at the Sakai City Opera Osaka in Japan. The international soloists with whom he has worked include Lang Lang, Maxim Vengerov, Gidon Kremer, Julian Rachlin, Sharon Kam and Julia Fischer.

Campestrini studied conducting, composition, philosophy and languages ​​in New York at the Juilliard School and Yale University and is active as a conductor as well as a pianist and composer of song cycles, symphonic works and chamber music.
