Christopher Chabris
Christopher F. Chabris [ ʃəˈbriː ] (born November 19, 1966 in the USA ) is an American experimental psychologist .
His experiment “Gorillas in our midst” is well-known , in which he and his colleague Daniel Simons (* 1969) demonstrate inattention blindness , i.e. the non-perception of objects due to the limited processing capacity of the human brain . For this they received the Ig Nobel Prize in 2004 .
In 1989 he and his compatriot FM Danny Edelman founded the Harvard Chess Cup at Harvard University , a "man versus machine" chess tournament that took place annually from 1989 to 1995 , the purpose of which was to measure progress in computer chess .
