Christopher H. Hallett

Christopher H. Hallett is an American classical archaeologist .

Life

He received his BA in 1980 from Bristol University , an M.Phil. with John James Coulton in 1983 at Oxford University and a Ph.D. with Andrew Stewart in 1993 at the University of California, Berkeley , where he has been professor at the Departments of History of Art and Classics since 2009 .

His research interests are Roman art and visual culture, ancient portrait painting, and Hellenistic art.
