Christopher Heath Wellman

Christopher Heath Wellman (born June 22, 1967 ) is an American philosopher and professor of philosophy at Washington University in St. Louis .

Wellman studied philosophy and economics at the University of North Carolina and the University of Arizona . He then was Assistant Professor at Guilford College from 1994 to 1998, Director of the Jean Beer Blumenfeld Center for Ethis from 1998 to 2004, and Associate Professor at Washington University from 2004 to 2008.

His research interests lie in the areas of political philosophy , legal philosophy , ethics and applied ethics . Wellman deals primarily with issues related to secession , political self-determination, immigration and justice .
