from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Christopher Mansel, 3rd Baron Mansel (* around 1699, † November 26, 1744 ), was a Welsh nobleman and politician.

He came from the old Welsh Mansel family , who had been one of the leading gentry families in South Wales since the 16th century . He was the second son of Thomas Mansel, 1st Baron Mansel and his wife Martha Millington.

When his nephew Thomas Mansel, 2nd Baron Mansel , the only son of his older brother Robert Mansel , unmarried and childless, died on January 29, 1744 , he inherited his title of nobility, Baron Mansel , the associated seat in the House of Lords , and the extensive estates of the family around Margam Abbey in South Wales. He himself died only a few months later on November 26, 1744, also unmarried and childless. His inheritance fell to his younger brother Bussy Mansel, 4th Baron Mansel .
