The monument of King Christ of Belalcázar

The King Christ of Belalcázar ( Spanish : El Cristo Rey de Belalcázar ) is a 26 meter high statue of Christ in the department of Caldas in Colombia . It was built from reinforced concrete between 1948 and 1954 . The total height of the monument is 45.5 m. The four-story substructure is around 20 meters high.

The monument stands on the "Cerro del Oso" at 1,632 meters above sea level. M.

Inside, the 167 steps allow you to climb up to the head of the statue, and the outstretched arms are also accessible. There is a small chapel on the first floor.

The Christ of Belalcázar is a monument of international standing, but it is neglected as neither the owners nor the local government have money to maintain it.
