Evangelical Christ Church in Kupferdreh

The Christ Church in Kupferdreh is a Protestant church in the Kupferdreh district of Essen . It was built from 1877 to 1879 as a brick hall church.

history

The foundation stone was laid on August 1st, 1877. The church was consecrated on March 19th, 1879. The architect was the local builder Wilhelm Bovensiepen.

From 1893 to 1894 the number of seats in the church was increased from 250 to 1000. The church got away with almost no war damage.

Bells

On February 27, 1958, the Rincker brothers in Sinn cast four new bells with the chimes b ', des', es 'and f'. The four bells were on 27 July of the same year ordained and installed in the newly built church tower. One of the two old bells ended up in the cemetery chapel, while the other was given away to Sumatra .

On October 26, 1958, the Christ Church received its current name.

The Protestant church building has been a listed building since 1989 .
