Chrysas (mythology)
Chrysas ( Greek Χρύσας ) is a river god of the river Chrysas in Sicily in Greek mythology .
Cicero and Silius Italicus report that Chrysas owned a sanctuary near the city of Assorus , through which the river of the same name flowed . A pictorial representation of Chrysas can be found on a coin from Assorus, which dates to 225–200 BC. Is dated. Obverse is the head of the god Apollon , Revers Chrysas, who holds an amphora and a cornucopia.
