Chu Nanmei

Chu Nanmei (* 1970 ) is a former weightlifter from the Republic of China (Taiwan) .

Career

Chu Nanmei was part of a group of athletes who attended Tainan City Teknang High School and did weightlifting as a recreational sport . In 1986 she learned from her athletics trainer Tsai Wen-Yi that there would also be world championships in weightlifting in the future. Then she decided to make weightlifting her main sport. Tsai Wen-Yi also became her first weightlifting coach. Chen Ku-Feng later assumed this position. In 1989 she was able to compete for the first time in terms of performance at World Championships and took 3rd place in the class up to 48 kg in Manchester . In the following years she started with great success up to 1998 at all world championships. Her greatest triumph was in 1993 when she won the 1993 World Championships in Melbourne in the weight class up to 46 kg body weight. In 1998 she ended her career as an active weightlifter.

Chu Nanmei graduated from the National College of Physical Education & Spors (CPES).
