The Cincinnati Swarm were an arena football team from Cincinnati, Ohio that only played arena football for one year. The Swarm completed their only season in af2 . They played their home games in the US Bank Arena .

history

The Swarm were founded in 2002 and took part in the af2 season in 2003. After only one year, however, the club dissolved again.

2003 season (af2)

The Swarm narrowly missed the playoffs in their only season. Although they finished on a negative record, 7 wins to 9 losses, they finished second in the Midwest Division but missed the first round of the playoffs.

Audience development

year Audience average
2003 4,222

Most of the spectators were welcomed to the first home game of the season against the Charleston Swamp Foxes. At that time, 7,238 spectators watched the 30:13 victory.

The audience interest was a shortcoming of the owners. The city of Cincinnati suffered a similar fate with the Cincinnati Jungle Kats , founded in 2007 , which also operated in the af2 for only one year and were subsequently dissolved. Here, too, the lack of audience interest was partly responsible.

Stadion

The Swarm played their home games at the US Bank Arena in Cincinnati. The stadium, which is equipped for arena football with 14,453 spectators, has already been used by many other minor ice hockey and basketball clubs.

There are currently plans to demolish or rebuild the arena.
