Cinta Senese

Cinta Senese is a breed of pig from Italy , similar to the Pata Negra pigs. It has been used for over 1000 years BC. a. Bred around Siena . A Tuscan ham is mainly produced from the Cinta Senese. The white stripe (Cinta) over the neck, chest and front hooves is characteristic of this breed. Otherwise the bristles are black. The animals are kept in the forest; they are not suitable for stable keeping. After about two years they reach a slaughter weight of about 150 kg.
