Citadellstrasse 11 (1909)

The house Citadellstraße 11 in Düsseldorf district Carlstadt is a listed building.

description

According to Jörg Heimeshoff , the facade is divided into seven axes. The entrance is in the middle, with a bay window above it. The window openings are designed like segments. The front door dates from the 17th century. Inside there is a baroque staircase.

For Paul Sültenfuß it is an example of a mansard roof house. The influence of Jägerhof Palace was decisive for the design of the attic windows and the segment-like lintel. A wide band that resembles an architrave runs under the main cornice of the facade . This is so wide that the lintel windows on the upper floor are unnecessary. The windows seem to hang on the architrave tape. In the floor plan of both floors and in the bay window above the entrance, a certain relationship with the neighboring house No. 7 can be seen. Paul Sültenfuß describes the stair decoration in Düsseldorf in detail. Josef Kleesattel also pays tribute to the interior design.
