Jörg AE Heimeshoff

Jörg AE Heimeshoff (born 1951 in Essen - Werden ) is a German historian , specialist author and until 2017 head of the "Institute for Monument Protection and Preservation", a department of the building control office of the city of Düsseldorf .

Life

Heimeshoff grew up in the Essen district of Werden, where he also attended high school, which he left in 1971 when he graduated from high school. He then studied art history , English and classical archeology at the Ruhr University in Bochum . There he was in 1979 with the work of the architect Emil von Manger for Dr. phil. PhD . In 1980 he came to what was then the state curator of Westphalia-Lippe , where he worked in the area of ​​rapid inventory for the Warendorf district and the city of Hagenedited. In November of the same year he moved to the city of Düsseldorf, initially as an employee of the Lower Monument Authority and from 1986 as its director and in this role at the same time city ​​curator of the city of Düsseldorf. He retired there at the end of February 2017.
