Miranda Frigon
Miranda Frigon (born February 2, 1980 in Edmonton , Alberta ) is a Canadian actress and singer-songwriter .
life and career
Miranda Frigon began her acting career at the age of 8 when she appeared in dozens of TV commercials . She studied theater at the University of Alberta before receiving a scholarship to the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City .
Frigon received a recurring role in the Disney - TV series Honey, I Shrunk the Kids . She returned to Canada and received guest roles on various American and Canadian television series such as Dead Zone , 4400 - The Returnees , Tru Calling - Destiny reloaded! , Higher Ground and The John Doe Case! . In 2003 she starred as Susan Carver in the TV series Jake 2.0 in a supporting role. She then moved to Los Angeles and got other guest appearances in successful series. Between 2006 and 2012 she appeared in series such as Dexter , The New Adventures of Old Christine , Ugly Betty , Supernatural , V - The Visitors , Sanctuary - Guardians of the Creatures , Emily Owens and Arctic Air . In 2007 she starred in the film Next alongside Nicolas Cage , Julianne Moore and Jessica Biel . From 2010 to 2012 she played the supporting role of Janice Wayne in the series Heartland - Paradise for Horses . From October 2012 to March 2013 she could be seen as Angelika “Ange” Finch in Primeval: New World , a spin-off from Primeval - Return of the Primeval Monsters .
In 2007 Frigon also played in the musical Mental The Musical . For this role she was nominated in the category Best Supporting Actress in a Musical at the Ticketholder Awards . In addition to her acting career, she also works as a singer-songwriter. She has released two albums so far and her songs are often played in the background of television series.
