Classic Formula Ford Competition

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Classic Formula Ford Competition ( CFFC ) was a car racing series for amateurs that was held from 2000 to 2009.

Races were held in the CFFC in single-seat open racing cars with either a Ford-Kent engine with 1.6 liter displacement or a Ford OHC engine with 2.0 liter displacement. The championship was divided into three classes:

  • Class A: Formula Ford 2000, year of construction 1975 up to and including year of construction 1988
  • Class B: Formula Ford 1600, model year 1979 up to and including model year 1988
  • Class C: Formula Ford 1600, built between 1967 and 1978 inclusive.

Due to the relatively tight regulations, the CFFC was characterized by minor technical differences between the cars, so that driving skills were the main focus.
