Claudius Clemens
Claudius Clemens (his praenomen is not known) was a member of the Roman knighthood ( Eques ) living in the 1st century AD .
An inscription found in Erbalunga , dated 77, shows that he was a procurator on Corsica . A military diploma dated February 17, 86 proves that he was 86 Prefect of the Roman fleet ( classis Alexandrina ) stationed in Alexandria ; both posts were linked to an annual income of 60,000 sesterces .
