Clearlight (French band)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Clearlight is a French progressive rock band formed by Cyrille Verdeaux in the 1970s.

history

Cyrille Verdeaux, who studied classical music and piano, released his first album, Clearlight Symphony, on Virgin Records in 1975 . No artist was named on the cover, so opinions differ as to whether this was a Verdeaux solo project or Clearlight's first album. Several musicians from the band Gong were involved in the album .

Also in 1975 was the album Delired Cameleon Family , the soundtrack to the French film "Visa de censure n ° X" by Pierre Clémenti , recorded with a changed and expanded cast. The band name Clearlight is not mentioned here either, so it is disputed whether the album can be attributed to the band.

Only the next album Forever Blowing Bubbles , also released in 1975, shows the name Clearlight on the cover. Two more Clearlight albums followed in 1976 and 1978, before Cyrille Verdeaux turned to other projects.

In 1990 Verdeaux recorded Clearlight Symphony II . Since then, new albums have been released under the name Clearlight.
