The Temperance River is a tributary of Lake Superior in Cook County of the US state of Minnesota .
The Temperance River forms the western outflow of Brule Lake . It flows through the adjacent South Temperance Lake and then flows south through the Canadian Shield . Shortly before it flows into Lake Superior at Tofte, the river flows through the Temperance River State Park . The Temperance River has a length of 63 km. Its catchment area covers 510 km².
