The honorary citizenship is the highest distinction of the community Heustreu .

So far, five people have been made honorary citizens.

  1. Wilhelm Hüllmantel (March 10, 1878 - September 15, 1961)

    Hüllmantel was born in Heustreu as the son of a farmer. After elementary school, he trained as a plumber and then went on a journey through Germany and Italy. In Dresden he got to know enamelling and his wife. With their member, he and his brothers built the Franconian enamelling and stamping works of the brothers Wilhelm, Sebastian and Franz Hüllmantel from 1911 onwards. Enamelled kitchenware was manufactured. He spent the time of the Second World War in exile in Switzerland. After the war he returned and rebuilt the company. It was sold in 1961. He supported his home parish with financial donations, for example for the restoration of St. Michael's Church and for the local associations.
  2. Adelheid Reder (born December 16, 1894 - † August 19, 1976)

    Reder came from Kleineibstadt. After completing secondary school, she attended the teacher training college in Würzburg. In 1919 she came to Heustreu as a teacher. When the headmaster Weinig was drafted during the Second World War, she took over his duties. She was released with the invasion of the US Army, but returned to school in 1947. In 1959 she retired. On the occasion of her adoption, the local council unanimously made her an honorary citizen.
  3. Clemens Oeftering (born January 12, 1914 - † June 13, 2004)

    Oeftering was ordained a priest on February 28, 1937 in Würzburg. After chaplain positions in Waldaschaff, Würzburg, Aschaffenburg, Meiningen, Schweinfurt and Sennfeld, he came to Heustreu on July 8, 1951. There he worked in pastoral care until November 30, 1979. He had the parish church rebuilt and initiated the restoration of St. Michael's Church.
  4. Konstantin Werner (born September 15, 1917 - † July 13, 2009)

    After elementary school, Werner came to the Münsterschwarzach convent school, where he passed his Abitur. He completed a commercial apprenticeship at Bayernbräu in Bad Neustadt and worked there until he retired. After the death of Mayor Andreas Troibner, he initially took over the official business on a provisional basis and was elected mayor of Heustreu. During his term of office the construction of the bypass road, the construction of the morgue, the sewer system and the sewage treatment plant fell. He played a key role in preparing the foundation of the Heustreu administrative association.
  5. Hugo Gütling (born August 3, 1936)

    Gütling attended elementary school and the agricultural vocational school and took over his parents' farm in 1959. In 1971 he gave up full-time farming and became an employee of the post office. In 1978 he was elected mayor of Heustreu. He stayed in office until 1996. During his tenure, the festival hall and kindergarten were rebuilt and the village renewal initiated.
