Coa Schwab

Coa Schwab (born September 12, 1976 ) is an American composer and oboist.

Coa Schwab began his musical education at the North Carolina School of the Arts and studied electronic and computer music with Daria Semegen and oboe at the State University of New York at Stony Brook . After graduating, he taught electronic music at the Berkshire School in Sheffield / Massachusetts before moving to Brooklyn. During his studies he performed as an oboist and interpreter of electronic music by contemporary composers, most recently at the "Microthon Festival" of the American Society of Microtonal Music .

In his compositions Schwab a. a. with human hissing sounds ("hiss chorusing": Papa Wee , 1992) and sounds of defective electronic equipment. He realized the Tape Minis collection with an analog synthesizer . Realizer was created during his time in Brooklyn .
