Cobbler (cocktail)

cobbler

A cobbler is a mixed drink made from fruit , mineral water , wine or sparkling wine . It is served in a tall stemmed glass with a drinking straw and bar spoon . It is also common to add fruit juice.

Well-known variants are:

  • Pineapple Cobbler

  • Burgundy Cobbler
  • Champagne Cobbler
  • Feodora Cobbler
  • Imperial Cobbler
  • Sherry Cobbler

In 1845, Sherry Cobbler was described as follows:

"2 teaspoons of crushed sugar is dissolved in 1 liqueur glass of water, the glass is then ¾ filled with artificial ice and sherry poured over the ice, mixed well and served with strawberries, grapes or pineapple."
