Cocio Chokolademælk A / S was founded in 1951 by Anker Pallesen and is now Scandinavia's largest producer of sterilized chocolate milk . Another important product is ice cream. The head office is at the company's factory in Kjersing north of Esbjerg .

From 1976 to 1999 Cocio belonged to the American Borden Food Corporation , a subsidiary of Borden, Inc. In 1989 the sole competitor Congo, which at the time had a market share of 25%, was taken over. After Borden withdrew from Europe, Cocio was taken over by the Danish companies E. Bank Lauridsen Holding A / S (2/3) and IAT Holding A / S (1/3), and production capacity was massively expanded by building a new factory since 2002 and increased export activities. In 2002 Arla Foods acquired a 50% stake and carried out contract manufacturing for Cocio. With effect from the beginning of 2008, Cocio was completely taken over by Arla Foods. At the time of purchase, Cocio had an annual turnover of around 200 million Danish kroner (around 27 million euros) with 50 employees.
