history

The Codanus sinus ("Codanus Gulf") extends between Denmark and the Mecklenburg coast in the area of the Bay of Lübeck . Seen from Denmark as the location of the parent company at that time, the start-up of the company in Heiligenhafen in 1959 was beyond, ie "trans codanum sinum", which was merged into Transcodan. Later the word “trans” appeared superfluous, so that in 1984 the new company name CODAN was created.
