Codex Palatinus germanicus 324

The Codex Palatinus germanicus 324 (also Cod. Pal. Germ. 324 and Cpg 324) is an illustrated paper manuscript of the virginal , which was produced between 1444 and 1448 in the Hagenau workshop of Diebold Lauber . It has been documented in the Heidelberg Castle Library since 1556/1559. In 1581 it was in the Heiliggeistbibliothek , the publicly accessible Bibliotheca Palatina . From 1622 she was in the Vatican Library with the books of the Palatina in Rome , until 1816 the German-language manuscripts were returned to Heidelberg .

The text was entered in Bastarda by three different hands in Lower Alemannic writing , and three draftsmen were involved in the 46 colored pen drawings. Textura was used on the initial page (fol. 1r) , the red initial D comprises nine lines, has tendrils and a wild man inside the letter .
