The Colegio Austriaco Mexicano in Mexico was founded in 2011 based on a cultural agreement between Mexico and Austria. The Colegio is located on the outskirts of the city of Santiago de Querétaro in the state of Querétaro .

The school association Asociación Cultural Educativa Austriaco Mexicana, founded in March 2010, acts as the school authority.

The school has Primaria, Secundaria and Preparatoria. Classes are given by Austrian and Mexican teachers.

Starting with the 1st class Primaria, the subjects German and mathematics are taught by Austrian teachers in German, the remaining subjects by Mexican teachers in Spanish. The number of subjects taught in German increases up to the final level of the preparatoria.

After successfully completing the Bachilleratos and the Austrian matriculation examination, the graduates of the Colegio Austriaco Mexicano obtain university entrance qualifications for universities in Mexico and Austria, among others.

One focus is the conveyance of European, especially Austrian, culture. The Colegio joins the list of Austrian schools abroad in Hungary, the Czech Republic, Liechtenstein, Turkey, Guatemala and Albania.
