Colonia Condesa
The Colonia Condesa (short: Condesa ) is a district in the Delegación Cuauhtémoc in Mexico City, built in 1902 with references to Art Nouveau and Art Deco .
history
The area on which the district was built belonged in the first half of the 17th century to Doña María de las Mercedes Enríquez de la Luna del Mazo , Countess of Miravalle (Spanish: Condesa, German: "Countess", hence the place name ). Your villa is located on the western edge of the district on the corner of Alfonso Reyes and Circuito Interior. Today it houses the Russian embassy. Colonia Condesa is a popular residential area for politicians, the wealthy and diplomats.
Infrastructure
Parque de Chapultepec and the historical center of Mexico City are in the immediate vicinity . There are two market halls and various open street markets and a French private university on the site of the former German School in Mexico (Universidad La Salle), a German bookshop, the Friedrich Ebert Foundation (FES), the Heinrich Böll Foundation (HBS) and the Mexican Goethe Institute .

Condesa can be reached via the metro stations Chapultepec , Jaunacatlan , Patriotismo , Sevilla , Insurgentes , Chilpancingo and Hospital General as well as by bus via the Avenida de los Insurgentes .
