Colony 5 is a Swedish future-pop / synth-pop - band , which in 1999 was established. In the beginning the band was oriented towards rather calm synth-pop , but then took a harder pace and is now more in the field of future pop .
The founding member Magnus Löfdahl left the band in 2001, and since then the band has only been on the road as a duo.
In 2006 the band won the Scandinavian Alternative Music Awards in the "Best Song" category with the single Plastic World .
The band is known in Germany through the promotion of the television stations GIGA.TV and ONYX.TV.
