Columban

Columban (also Columban ) is the name of the following saints who lived as Irish wandering monks in the 6th century:

  • Columban of Iona (521–597; also called Kolumba, Columba or Columban the Elder), missionary from Scotland
  • Columban of Luxeuil (540–615; also Columban of Bobbio or Columban the Younger called), missionary of the Franks and messenger of faith in Alemannia

Columban is also the religious name of the following Benedictine monks :
