Columbia National Forest
The Columbia National Forest was established in Washington on July 1, 1908 by the United States Forest Service by separating a 941,440 acres (3,809.9 km²) section from the Rainier National Forest . On 15 June 1949 he was named in honor of the forestry pioneer Gifford Pinchot in Gifford Pinchot National Forest renamed.
