The combit Relationship Manager is a customer relationship management (CRM) or customer management software for managing customer contacts. The solution is based on a relational client-server database and supports the Microsoft SQL Server and the open source database system PostgreSQL on an SQL basis . The CRM solution can also be based on existing SQL server databases and used as a database front end .

The software is suitable for analytical CRM , operational CRM , collaborative CRM and communicative CRM . The combit Relationship Manager is mainly used in small and medium-sized companies or project-oriented departments in large companies. Among others in HR and marketing departments, sales , purchasing, call centers or support . He can individually adapt to the respective conditions, e.g. B. Industry, number of users or size of the company can be adjusted. The interface can be switched to English, so the CRM system can also be used in branches abroad and in teams with mixed languages.

History and Development

The first version of the combit Relationship Manager came onto the market in 2004. Since then, the trade press has tested the software several times. The combit Relationship Manager is manufactured and distributed by combit GmbH .

The forerunner of the combit Relationship Manager is the address manager from combit GmbH, the Windows version of which came onto the market in 1992 and has developed into one of the best-known contact management solutions in 18 years. Since the address manager uses a proprietary database, the software reaches its limits in terms of performance with very large amounts of data. B. also no relations. The combit Relationship Manager was developed in parallel to the address manager, which is still offered, in order to use the expanded options provided by the SQL database.

From version 2006 the software also has an English user interface; since version 5 the Relationship Manager also processes Unicode data, e.g. B. Japanese characters. The combit Relationship Manager is available as a purchase license and, since May 2009, also as a rental license. CRM.WebAccess has existed since September 2009, with which cRM data can be accessed via the Internet. The software is constantly being further developed. Version 10 was released in May 2019.

Functions

The software has, among other things, customer and contact management, appointment and task management, document management, campaign management, telephony functions ( CTI ), and various statistical options. It also contains sample solutions with different focuses and modules that can be used as a template for your own solution, e.g. B. Surveys, event management, campaign management, complaint management , purchase decision processes in the buying center . With the integrated report generator , evaluations such as data analysis, reports, crosstabs, diagrams, labels and letters are output, sent to a printer or saved as a file. Output formats include a. PDF , RTF , Microsoft Excel , HTML , XHTML , TIFF , JPG , BMP , XML .

The surface can be adapted to your own requirements with freely definable relations ( data modeling ). The information center gives an overview of upcoming appointments, offers and possible sales opportunities. Automatisms are built into the input masks, such as input rules, subsequent links and auto-texts . Processes in the company can be automated using the integrated workflow designer, scripting , OLE Automation Server and e-mail autopilot.

The communication options include individual and serial e-mails / letters / faxes, groupware functions and a connection to social media . Incoming and outgoing e-mails are possible under Microsoft Outlook , Mozilla Thunderbird and Tobit. As an LDAP server, the combit Relationship Manager can be loaded as an address book in other programs, e.g. B. in Outlook, Mozilla, Windows people search. Via the cRM.WebAccess, users can also access customer data over the Internet.

There are connections to other software solutions for merchandise management systems and ERP systems based on SQL database systems, among other things . With the connection to Active Directory , user data can be imported and synchronized.
