Comindware Tracker is a web-based collaborative work management software that combines workflow automation with task management , issue tracking and online collaboration. It offers e-mail integration, reporting dashboards, workspaces as well as role-based access rights and enables the integration of other solutions via API. The software was developed by Comindware Inc. and launched in February 2012. The purpose of this system is to automate business activities in all areas.
Product name
Comindware is a combination of co + mind + ware: co + mind refers to co-minded work (in the sense of cooperation) and emphasizes the collaborative character of the product, ware stands for software. Tracker is derived from the basic functionality of the software solution: Issue tracking based on the tracking of task progress and project performance.
License
Comindware is commercial software and is available as a licensed version for in-house installation or as Software as a Service (SaaS).
Functions
- 1. Workflow automation
A key distinguishing feature of Comindware Tracker compared to other automation solutions is the minimal amount of time required to start and change business processes:
- The web-based system does not require any software to be installed; all business data is available via any desktop or mobile browser.
- Workflows are designed visually and interactively in the GBO without programming knowledge being required. The creation and modification of workflow processes takes place in a simple way according to the WYSIWYG principle in a graphical workflow generator with drag and drop .
- "On the fly" changes to the processes are possible at any time, even while the workflows are running. If there are process changes in the course of execution, the new elements follow the new workflow, all existing elements continue to be processed according to the previously valid workflow. Ongoing activities are not interrupted and there is no loss of time or data. Comindware Tracker is based on the state-of-the-art platform architecture ElasticData, which enables this exclusive function.

- 2. Automation of any business activity and uniform data throughout the company
Company processes do not have to submit to the Comindware logic. On the contrary, when it comes to automation, Comindware adapts to any business process. Only one application is required for the automation of workflow processes, as well as process tracking and task management in all departments. Although the different areas or projects of a company each have their own work areas with individual participants and security settings, everything is hosted in a software instance and the resources are available to everyone.
- 3. Link workflows and tasks
In addition to Comindware Task Management, Comindware Tracker also contains Comindware ConnectStep technology. This function automatically generates the task for the processor of the next step as soon as a workflow task changes from one status to the next. All parties involved receive clear instructions so that they can process and manage these tasks alongside their other activities. In short, Comindware clarifies the tasks to be done and automates their transfer to the next step.
- 4. Extensive Microsoft Outlook integration
Comindware is not limited to simple notifications. Instead, there is a deep, patent-pending integration with Microsoft Outlook. In this way, users can collaborate effectively and process the tasks extended with Comindware like normal Outlook tasks without having to switch between the systems. In fact, many users don't even notice that Comindware is running in the background. The Comindware Tasks for Outlook add-in is included in Comindware Tracker.

Comindware Tracker is written in C # , C ++ , JavaScript . The functional principle of Comindware Tracker is based on the logic of a state machine - the basis of an issue tracking system . State machine logic enables leaner schemes for business process automation than the BPMN logic typically used for complex processes. The heart of Comindware Tracker is a database that was specially developed for this system and is based on the ElasticData data management model. This is a graphic database with a semantic data model that implements the semantic web and the web 2.0 principles for data management. This highly flexible data management model allows changes to be made to processes while they are running without interrupting them. With the help of the Web Services API, Comindware integrates CRM, ERP and EAM systems or services from third-party manufacturers, for example Salesforce CRM , Survey Gizmo, SugarCRM , Oracle and Microsoft Dynamics .
