Cominotto ( Maltese Kemmunett ) is an uninhabited island rock that is one of the Maltese islands . Politically it belongs to the Republic of Malta . Its area is only 0.25 km². It is in front of the island of Comino on its west coast at a distance of about 100 m.

The Mediterranean Sea is very flat between these two islands and has a fine sandy bottom. When the sun is shining, the water turns bright blue to turquoise. The Maltese call this shallow the Blue Lagoon because of its intense color . Especially in the summer months this is a popular destination for many tourists and Maltese, which is why the beaches on the island of Comino are quickly overcrowded.
