Comisión Federal de Electricidad (CFE) is a state-owned Mexican company headquartered in Mexico City .

Due to the Mexican constitution, the company has an extensive monopoly in the generation and supply of electricity. Sales are just under US $ 20 billion and the company employs more than 80,000 people.

In 1992, power generation was opened to private companies. But even today, two thirds of the installed capacity still belongs to the CFE. Independent producers control 9.3 GW of installed capacity, but they are required to sell the electricity produced to CFE, which holds the monopoly on power distribution.

The CFE hydropower plants include the El Cajón dam and the La Yesca dam .

On October 12, 2009, CFE took over the energy supply company Luz y Fuerza .
