The ranking is based on the 500 companies with the highest turnover in Latin America (excluding banks and insurance companies) published annually by the business magazine “Latin Trade” in the list “Top 500 Companies in Latin America” . Are also listed the headquarters , the net profit , number of employees and the industry . Figures are in millions of dollars and relate to fiscal year 2016.

The ranking of the annual Forbes Global 2000 list of the 2000 largest publicly traded companies in the world is calculated from a combination of sales , net income , assets and market value . The placements of the companies in the equally weighted categories were added together to form a rank. The table also shows the headquarters and the industry . The figures are in billion US dollars and relate to the 2016 financial year , for the market value to the market price on March 16, 2017.
