The Largest Companies in New Zealand list includes the largest publicly traded companies in New Zealand published by Forbes Magazine on the Forbes Global 2000 list .

The ranking of the annual list of the 2000 largest publicly traded companies in the world is calculated from a combination of sales , net profit , assets and market value . The placements of the companies in the equally weighted categories were added together to form a rank. The table also shows the headquarters , the industry and the number of employees. The figures are in billions of US dollars and relate to fiscal year 2008, for the market value to the stock exchange price on February 27, 2009.
