The list of largest companies in Japan includes the largest publicly traded companies in Japan published by Forbes Magazine on the Forbes Global 2000 list, as well as the largest companies by revenue from the Fortune Global 500 list .

The ranking is based on the 500 top-selling companies in the world published annually by Fortune magazine in the Fortune Global 500 list . Are also listed the headquarters , the net profit , number of employees and the industry . Figures are in billions of dollars and relate to fiscal year 2016.

The placements of the companies in the equally weighted categories were added together to form a rank. The table also shows the headquarters and the industry . The figures are in billion US dollars and relate to fiscal year 2016 - in Japan for most companies from April 1 to March 31, for the market value based on the stock exchange price from February 2017.
