Recruit Holdings Co., Ltd. ( Japanese. 株式会社 リ ク ル ー ト , Kabushiki-gaisha Rikurūto ) is a Japanese publishing and personnel company that became known outside of Japan as a result of the recruit scandal in the early 1990s.

"Recruit" is English and means something like "offspring" or "new hire". The company, which specializes in recruiting young talent, has its headquarters in the Ginza district of Tokyo and was part of the Daiei keiretsu , but is now independent.

Recruit also gives job applicants tips on how to look successful. The result is a certain uniformity of young male job applicants, which has led to the term “recruit style” in Japan.

In Germany, Recruit is represented by its subsidiary Indeed .
