Indeed, Inc is a job search engine founded in November 2004 in the United States and headquartered in Austin, Texas and Stamford, Connecticut. As a “single-topic search engine” it is a vertical search engine . Indeed is currently available in approximately 60 countries and 28 languages. Indeed has been owned by Japanese Recruit since 2012 .

In Germany, Indeed has a branch in Düsseldorf and, with a share of 39% of all job searches in 2019, is the leading job site in terms of user numbers. In October 2010, Indeed.com passed Monster.com, making it the most visited job site in the United States. According to Indeed, it has 250 million visitors to its website worldwide every month.

The website aggregates job vacancies from thousands of websites, including job boards, recruitment agencies, associations and corporate career pages. Indeed generates revenue by selling job posting, employer branding, and resume searches to employers and companies looking to hire.

In the Indeed Hiring Lab, an international team of experts and data analysts researches trends and developments in the labor market. Both Indeed data and data from official statistics are used for this. The research results are freely available on the Indeed Hiring Lab's blog.

history

Indeed was founded in 2004 by Paul Forster and Rony Kahan. The first offices were opened in the current headquarters in Austin, Texas and Stamford, Connecticut. In 2005, Indeed started its beta version of the so-called “pay-per-click job advertising network”, which is still in place today. Since 2011, the site has made it possible for job seekers to apply directly and to create an online résumé . Other components of the product range are the Indeed company profile and “ITA Apply”, with the help of which employers can set specific criteria for applicants and display their job offers.

On October 1, 2012 Indeed became an independent operating subsidiaries of Japan-based Recruit Co. Ltd . On July 1, 2016, Recruit Holdings Co., Ltd. announced that it has acquired the assets of Indeed's competitor, Simply Hired, who would become Indeed's publishing partner. Indeed announced on May 30, 2019 that it has signed an agreement to acquire Syft, a leading recruiting platform for the hospitality, events and light industry sectors in the UK.

Sponsorship with Eintracht Frankfurt

Indeed has been the main and jersey sponsor of the Bundesliga soccer club Eintracht Frankfurt since the 2017/18 season . Initially, both sides negotiated a contract until June 30, 2020, but this was extended early in 2019 to 2023.

The partnership is characterized by matching values ​​and the resulting struggle for diversity and inclusion. After 3 years of partnership, this resulted in three special jerseys: "United Colors of Frankfurt", "Platz für Vielfalt" and in the DFB Cup semi-final 2020 against Bayern Munich the message “#BlackLivesMatter”. Nothing to complain about campaign

In October 2018 Indeed Germany launched the “Nothing to complain about” brand campaign. This was produced in cooperation with the Hamburg agency Grabarz & Partner. The campaign deals with a national stereotype: the typical German always finds something to complain about, even if everything seems perfect, that's the idea behind the series of commercials. In fact, according to Indeed, 35 percent of all employed persons in Germany are dissatisfied with their work situation. The campaign was awarded the silver Effie at the end of 2019 .
