The ranking of the annual Forbes Global 2000 list of the 2000 largest publicly traded companies in the world is calculated from a combination of sales , net profit , ( assets and market value ). The placements of the companies in the equally weighted categories were added together to form a rank. The table also shows the headquarters , number of employees and the industry . The numbers are in billions of dollars and relate to fiscal year 2018.
